Which is the most effective desiccant bag?
- DIN 55473-certified and meets MIL-D-3464E technical requirements
- >Contains unfired clay as active granulate
- Absorbs 25-30 % of its own weight in moisture (approx. 280 ml water vapour per kilo)
- A number of low-dust and dust-tight bag sizes available – 1/6 desiccant unit (approx. 2 gm) to 32 TME (approx. 1,024 gm)
- Application inside packaging: yes
- Can be suitable for use in containers or large rooms(case dependent)
- Silica gel bags available in a choice of sizes (0.5 gm–250 gm)
- Available with food grade quality
- Available with visual saturation indicator (silica gel orange)
- Adsorbs 30– 40 % of its own weight in moisture (approx. 300–400 ml of water vapour per kilo)
- Application inside packaging: yes
- For use in containers or large rooms: no
- Desiccant sachets filled with silica gel, molecular sieve, or activated carbon and silica gel
- Ideal for use in pharmaceutical packaging and in the food industry

- Modern high-performance desiccant bag for transport and storage
- Effective desiccant containing salt and starch
- Salt attracts air humidity and turns to liquid, this liquid is then trapped by starch (i.e.,gel formation)
- Absorbs over 200 % of its own weight in water vapour (approx. 2015 ml per kilo/ around 252 gm per bag)
- Optional extra adhesive strip on the back

- Salt attracts air humidity and the clay granulate binds moisture
- Absorbs 60 % of its own weight in moisture (approx. 600 ml water vapour per kilo)
- Can be regenerated
- Has a climate-regulating effect (adsorbs and releases moisture)

Which type of desiccant bag do you need?
This desiccant meets industry standard DIN 55473 and is used in particular in the export sector (e.g. by specialised export packers). The desiccant bags are placed or hung directly inside the packaging of the goods to be transported or stored. It should be noted that the packaged goods and the desiccant must be sealed from the outside climate with the aid of a barrier layer (inbox desiccant).
DIN 55473 desiccant bags are particularly suitable for protecting sensitive goods from moisture during prolonged storage and transport. When used correctly, they prevent mould, corrosion and other moisture damage. They are ideal for protecting electronic devices, machine parts, leather goods, chemical products and pharmaceutical preparations from excessive humidity inside the shipment packaging.
These small bags filled with silica gel are an ideal choice for use with sensitive goods, as they can be added directly to the product packaging. Silica gel bags protect your goods, from electrical appliances to leather goods and textiles to packaged food, from moisture damage during transportation and storage. The silica gel bags absorb moisture from the air inside the packaging, preventing condensation from forming, when used correctly. This prevents mould, corrosion, softened cardboard packaging and changes in odour and taste.
These desiccant sachets are a good choice for use with pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging. The granules and bag materials used are suitable for use under the strictest specifications, and the performance and adsorption capacity of the sachets and strips fulfil the highest requirements.
They are available as individual sachets and in strips marked for automated separation. Customers can order standard products or customised products according to their needs.
The high-performance desiccant bag
This small-sized desiccant can fit into almost any gap in tightly packed containers. The desiccant bags have an adhesive strip so they can be attached to the packaged goods, the dunnage material or even the container wall.
Under certain circumstances, SeaDry Single can also be used as an inbox desiccant bag. Due to the significantly greater absorption capacity compared to DIN desiccants, the same results can be achieved with fewer bags. It must be ensured that the water vapour-permeable fleece top of the bags does not touch sensitive surfaces.
SeaDry Singles can also be used for the transport or storage of vehicles. They can be distributed quickly and easily in the vehicle to protect the interior from condensation on longer journeys or, in open-air storage for used cars. The fleece surface should not come into contact with sensitive materials on or in the car.
Yellow Master Dry desiccant bags can be used in large storage areas. Master Dry desiccant bags differ to some products in our range as they also release the adsorbed moisture when the ambient air is dry, giving them a climate-regulating effect. If you want to protect stored goods and merchandise like. machines, metals, furniture, textiles and filing cabinets, Master Dry will control moisture to prevent corrosion and mould. Once you’ve calculated the correct quantity of desiccant, Master Dry bags should be distributed as evenly as possible in the storage space. As with SeaDry, take care to ensure that the fleece does not touch any of the stored items.
